Introduction
Welcome to the Affliction Warlock DPS guide written by Timo (Fraser), one of Honolulu’s main raiders.
In Dragonflight, Affliction’s strengths lie in sustained spread cleave and AoE, high mobility on 1-3 Targets, and high self-heal survivability.
Affliction is currently in a pretty good spot both for raiding and Mythic+. Our single target is one of the best, but we can also do some of the best spread cleave damage and AoE if needed.
What has changed
Patch 10.2.5 Changes
Affliction received no changes in this patch.
Patch 10.2 Affliction Warlock Changes
- Grand Warlock's Design has been redesigned - Summon Darkglare cooldown is reduced by 30 seconds FROM every Soul Shard you spend reduces the cooldown of Summon Darkglare by 2 seconds
- Soul-Eater's Gluttony has been redesigned - Soul Rot cooldown is reduced by 15 / 30 seconds FROM whenever Unstable Affliction deals damage, the cooldown of Soul Rot is reduced by 0.5 seconds
While the changes to Grand Warlock's Design see no application in any of the talent builds for affliction the consistency change to Soul-Eater's Gluttony is a massive benefit to Affliction as with our tier set bonus relating to Soul Rot this patch the more casts we can get of it the better. The fact that Soul Rot is either 45 seconds or 30 seconds depending on how many points in Soul-Eater's Gluttony means you can choose it to sync up with Phantom Singularity by spending 1 point or more normally Vile Taint with 2 points. Giving Affliction a unique 30 seconds or 45 seconds burst profile.
