Stat Priorities

Stat Ranking

The general Stat Priority for Feral is:

Agility > Crit > Mastery > Haste > Versatility

Though, the stats remain relatively close in value. It’s always recommended to sim individual gear upgrades.

Stat Outline

Critical Strike is generally your best Secondary Stat. You secondary stats are relatively close to each other, making Item Level a good indicator of upgrades for the most part since Agility is rather strong. The general Stat Ranking is outlined below, but you should always be simming upgrades.

Agility: This is our primary stat. It gives us Attack Power, and increases our damage. This is our highest priority Stat.

Critical Strike: Increases the chance to land a critical strike, doing double damage. This is a very valuable stat for us due to Primal Fury, giving us 2 Combo Points when a generator crits, doing a lot to improve the feel and flow of our rotation. This tends to be our best secondary stat, especially earlier on, but it will generally drop off in value.

Haste: Increases your energy generation and Bleed tick rate.

Mastery: Increases the damage dealt by your Bleeds and Finishers.

Versatility: Increases your damage done and decreases your damage taken.

Feral has no particular breakpoint for any stat that you should aim for. The closest thing is 50% Crit making it so that Shred is guaranteed to crit during Berserk. However, this is definitely not something you should actively aim for and should continue to sim individual gear upgrades.

The best way to calculate stat priorities for your character is to "sim" your character. Method Raider Jaerv has written a series of Metafy articles to help!

How to Sim in World of Warcraft

Races

Feral is in a bit of a special situation in that there’s a Race whose Utility Racial provides us with a significant dps boost, that being Night Elf with Shadowmeld, making that Race far superior to alternatives. With Cross Faction instanced content being available, it’s now easier than ever to be a Night Elf.

Alliance: As discussed, Night Elf is by far the strongest option if you’re Alliance.

Horde: All Horde Races are very close, making it safe to pick based on personal preference, but Troll is very slightly ahead.

Enchants

Cloak: Enchant Cloak - Graceful Avoidance

Chest: Waking Stats

Bracers: Avoidance

Legs: Fierce Armor Kit

Boots: Enchant Boots - Watcher's Loam

Ring: Devotion of Critical Strike

Weapon: Enchant Weapon - Sophic Devotion  and Enchant Weapon - Wafting Devotion perform very similarly for all forms of content and the difference between the two will depend on your own gear.

Gems

You will want to socket the Gem that gives you the combination of Secondary Stats that is currently best for you and 1 Inscribed Illimited Diamond, which you should prioritise.

Consumables

Food: Grand Banquet of the Kalu’ak / Fortune Cookie > Thousandbone Tongueslicer

Phial: Iced Phial of Corrupting Rage for Raid and Phial of Glacial Fury for M+

Potion: Elemental Potion of Ultimate Power

Sharpening stone: Buzzing Rune

Health Pot: Dreamwalker's Healing Potion
