Class Talents
Let's talk about the Paladin Class Tree. I want to talk about it in the "Row" sections and explain why you should pick specific talents.
Row 1 - 4
In Rows 1 - 4, we need to spend 8 points to unlock Rows 5 - 7.
Lay on Hands, Auras of Resolute and Blessing of Freedom are already picked by default.
You want to pick Hammer of Wrath in every scenario.
Then you want to pick Divine Steed, Cavalier and Seasoned Warhorse. This will provide you with more mobility.
Now we’re picking Greater Judgment in every scenario.
Last two points will go into Rebuke and Improved Cleanse. Both of these talents are situational and depend on what content you’re doing.
By default the final talent point in this section will go into Obduracy
Auras of Swift Vengeance is a highly situational talent and should only be picked when specifically needed. For example if your raid has two holy paladins and no other, one of them should be running Retribution Aura.
Row 5 - 7
In Rows 5 - 7, We need to spend 12 points to advance to Rows 8 - 10.
Your first point here will go into Avenging Wrath because this is our strongest cooldown and should always be taken. To enhance our toolkit, we pick Blessing of Sacrifice, Sacrifice of the Just and Blessing of Protection.
You will be spending one point into Crusader's Reprieve.
Sanctified Plates will give you 12% armor, 6% stamina and 6% avoidance per point, so you will be putting two points into this.
Holy Aegis will provide you with 4% crit, so you'll be spending two points into this talent as well.
Next point goes into Unbreakable Spirit to reduce the cooldown of our defensives.
Now we need to spend two more point to unlock the Rows 8 - 10. You will be putting your points into either Golden Path and Seal of Mercy or Echoing Blessings and Afterimage which will now activate the next section of the tree.
Row 8 - 10
In Rows 8 - 10 we have the powerful nodes.
You should be picking Divine Purpose in every situation, this will provide you with a solid healing boost.
Your next four points will be spent into Seal of Might and Seal of Alacrity.
This is now making you able to take Of Dusk and Dawn & Seal of Order which will provide you with stronger Holy Power spenders and will also give more self survivability.
Next two points will be spent on Divine Toll and Divine Resonance.
Now you should be left with two points:
For Raid I would recommend taking 1 point in Judgment of Light because this will provide you with free healing when using Judgment and Touch of Light again giving you some free passive healing and damage.
For Mythic+ I would recommend taking 2 points in Strength of Conviction as it'll greatly increase the AoE damage you deal with Shield of the Righteous.
Talent Builds
Standard (Raid)
BEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQAARAAACQJJFoUik0aItk4AlIhimAIJlkgkQkCaSiAACA0ACJJhA
The goal of this build is to cast as many Holy Shock as possible, thus spreading Glimmer of Light and setting up Daybreak, all the while keeping a high uptime on Tyr’s Deliverance.
Key Talents:
- Glimmer of Light - must-pick core of the build
- Imbued Infusions - because we want more Holy Shock
- Daybreak is an 1 min cooldown that will consume all of your Glimmers for an instant burst of healing.
- Divine Toll is an 1 minute cooldown, casts Holy Shock on 5 people, generating 5 Holy Power - Should be used after Daybreak to reapply Glimmer of Light.
- Rising Sunlight - Will allow you to trigger Glimmers of Light applied after the Daybreak + Divine Toll combo.
- Tyr’s Deliverance is a 90 second cooldown, instantly heals 5 injured allies and an injured ally every 0.7 seconds for 20 seconds within 40 yards.
- Boundless Salvation extends the duration of Tyr’s Deliverance up to 60 seconds
Flex Talents:
- Beacon of Virtue is both harder to play and more mana intensive than Beacon of Faith, but it will result in more HPS, if played correctly.
- While Barrier of Faith does more raw HPS, we pick Reclamation by default because it frees up a GCD and refunds desperately needed mana - especially valuable when running Beacon of Virtue
- Breaking Dawn can be substituted for for Unwavering Spirit if needed
- Reclamation can be substituted for Barrier of Faith
- Merciful Auras can be substituted for Blessing of Seasons
- Rebuke can be substituted for Blinding Light or Retribution Aura
- Echoing Blessings can be substituted for Afterimage
Standard (M+)
BEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABAABAEBAAIAlkUQKlIJtGSLJRJgSrJagkUEkkQkCIiAACA0ACJJhA
For M+ you'll notice that we're picking more damage focused talents like Strength of Conviction, Shining Righteousness and Holy Infusion, as well as more talents to maximize our utility.
Key Talents:
- Holy Prism because of its versatility over Light’s Hammer
- Rebuke and Blinding Light - to round out our excellent utility kit
- Shining Righteousness
- Imbued Infusions - because we want more Holy Shock
- Daybreak is an 1 min cooldown that will consume all of your Glimmers for an instant burst of healing
- Divine Toll is an 1 minute cooldown, casts Holy Shock on 5 people, generating 5 Holy Power - Should be used after Daybreak to reapply Glimmer of Light
- Rising Sunlight - Will allow you to trigger Glimmers of Light applied after the Daybreak + Divine Toll combo
Flex Talents:
- Hand of Divinity or Divine Favor, pick whichever suits you personally.
- Beacon of Virtue, while still a strong option in M+, has fallen out of the meta and is now a niche-pick
- Inflorescence of the Sunwell can be substituted for Tyr’s Deliverance
