Introduction
My name is Dan, otherwise better known as Danwarr. I have been playing Warrior as a main character since Throne of Thunder in Mists of Pandaria and have raided with Method as a Warrior player since Castle Nathria. In this guide, I will take you through how Arms Warrior is looking in Dragonflight.
Arms Warrior has somewhat struggled to find a consistent identity over the last few years, as Blizzard are seemingly unable to find a design they like for the spec. Over the past 2 expansions alone, Arms has been a Bleed spec, Execute spec, Haste driven high APM spec and a slot machine gambling spec. Dragonflight looks to end some of that inconsistency by offering a couple of these previously mentioned playstyles within the same tree (Bleeds and Execute).
What has changed
Patch 10.2.5 Changes
Patch 10.2.5 has brought a few small damage increases to Arms, looking to impact their AoE damage specifically with minor single target increases as well.
- Cleave damage increased by 10%
- Dreadnaught damage increased by 30%
- Deep Wounds damage increased by 15%
- Amirdrassil 4 set - Thunder Clap procced from consuming Sudden Death is increased by 200% (was 100%)
On top of this, Spear of Bastion is now called Champion’s Spear.
None of these changes have any impact on the current builds.
Patch 10.2 Arms Warrior Changes
Alongside the usual new tier set, Arms Warrior has received a small number of changes going into patch 10.2.
- Slam damage increased by 25%
- All damage increased by 6%
- Mortal Strike and Overpower damage increased by 10%
- Ignore Pain no longer contributes towards Anger Management, Test of Might or Tactician
Additionally, Rallying Cry bonus HP has been nerfed from 15% to 10% and the Inspiring Presence talent has been removed. This is a minor impact on raid utility but it combined with several other raid defensive nerfs across the board so ultimately isn’t overwhelmingly negative.
