Gear
Tier Sets
Overall, the tier set for evoker is very powerful. The 2 set increases the power of spiritbloom by a significant margin and increases dream breath healing by 15%. The spiritbloom section is what allows a spirit bloom-centric build to be strong. The 4-set is not as impactful for spiritbloom builds, as it gives you more essence bursts which aren’t always needed when casting echo. But it does provide a large increase to emerald blossom builds which rely very heavily on essence bursts to conserve their mana and output high HPS.
Trinkets
There are now three trinkets in patch 10.1.5 that are significantly stronger than any other option: Rashok's Molten Heart, Screaming Black Dragonscale and Echoing Tyrstone. The first two can be obtained in the Aberrus raid while the last trinket comes from the new mega-dungeon Dawn of the Infinite. Keep in mind that Echoing Tyrstone is currently very strong and most likely will get nerfed in the future. If that happens we will update you as soon as possible!
Other trinkets available that can be used are the Ominous Chromatic Essence from the Raid, Spoils of Neltharus from the Neltharus Dungeon, Rainsong from The Vortex Pinnacle Dungeon and Mirror of Fractured Tomorrows from The Dawn of the Infinite mega-dungeon.
The class trinket, Neltharion's Call to Chaos, is a bit weaker than the three BiS trinkets, but it is also available to be used.
Embellishments and Crafted Gear
Crafted gear is a great way to improve your gear, and you can craft anything you want. However, you will gain the most benefit from a few specific items.
The Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards and Undulating Sporecloak are big upgrades and are the recommended items to be crafted with your sparks.
With any sparks left after crafting your 2x Embellishments, crafting items to fill gaps in your gear is recommended.
Weapon
Weapons provide you the largest increase to your power.
Our best in slot is of course our legendary weapon Nasz’uro, the Unbound Legacy. Outside of having the most main stat, it also buffs yourself or allies with 500 main stat every time you use an empowered spell such as dream breath, spiritbloom or firebreath. With the updated bad luck protection in Patch 10.1.5 and given weekly reclears, you should be able to reliably get this weapon over time.
If you weren’t lucky enough to get this legendary drop from Sarkareth yet, crafting a weapon with a spark of shadowflame is always a good alternative.
Onyx Annulet and Primordial Stones
In the patch 10.0.7, a special ring (Onyx Annulet) was added to the game that gives powerful bonuses, however, the ring doesn't have secondary stats.
Healing
While the dps stones have been nerfed by Blizzard, the healing ones haven’t been touched. Therefore, this ring is still a viable option if you’re in the process of gearing your evoker. However, once you obtain higher item level rings from the raid or m+, you’ll most likely replace this one. A small thing to note is also the loss of stamina with playing a lower item level ring.
The most powerful gem combination for your Onyx Annulet are as follows:
Damage
In the latest patch 10.1.5, the dps stones have been nerfed by 40%, while buffing our own damage abilities by 10%. Therefore it’s not recommended to use this ring for dps purposes any longer.
